Gilgul Two is a performance piece for modified Super 8 projector, Super 8 film, and improvising ensemble. The work is composed of recycled materials; the film and projector are found objects given purpose after a life of disregard. The cinematic language is inspired by the “Untutored Eye” as developed by Stan Brakhage. The accompanying sound is inspired by the conduction of Tyshawn Sorey and Butch Morris. The ensemble includes:

About the Artist
Benjamin Rositsan is a multi-instrumentalist and multi-disciplinary artist based in Toronto, Ontario. He performs as part of music collectives Mifune Moods and Render File, and spends most of his professional time improvising on the saxophone. He is a founding member of Sound-Art group Ecotone Orchestra. This is his film debut.
